When MLM marketing was born, there were only offline strategies born yet. In fact, the internet was only a thought in some genius brain. Home business meetings, Hotel meetings, and large events were the recruitment tools that people would use to build their business. Of course there was printing around, newspaper ads, magazines, postcards and other printed material was standard. If you became a big timer and knew what you were doing, you might have been able to pull off a television comercial. Then the internet was born and marketing became a whole lot bigger, and a whole lot faster. Still the essence of marketing stayed the same, Printing also known as copy, television or video, meetings or webinars.
The essence of marketing really hasn’t changed, while the speed of the marketing has. Lets take a look at some benefits of some online marketing strategies. You can take some printed copy, run a campaign on Google Adwords and you can see whether or not your product is going to sell in a relatiely short period of time, in fact, you can find out overnight. In this respect, offline marketing is much, much slower. It could take you up to six months to see if a postcard campaign would have any meat or not. Even newspaper ads would take at least a week to find out if they are effective. Even then, your not sure if it’s the product or your copy that sucks, so you have to at least run the test a couple of times changing the copy to make sure the numbers come back favorably.
Television is highly effective, and it’s highly expensive as well. A person could produce a video at very little cost and can reach the globe with all of the video sharing sites that are available online. Television your exposure will be limited to the money you have in your pocket and the time slot you have available to obtain a specified number of viewers at the particular air time. Video stays there forever unless you delete it or the boot you out.
Home business meetings are highly effective when done properly, and they can be a lot of fun. There is a lot of preperation needed, and it isn’t very cost efficient if you want to have to travel very far. It isn’t likely that you could obtain the same effectiveness utilizing the internet to do a home based business meeting. I guess you could have everyone gather around the computer while you do a presentation online or something, but it will not have the same effect as being there in person, belly to belly.
Hotel meetings are very effective, and they can be expensive if you plan to travel from city to city. Online hotel meetings are being done via webinar, and we have had some significant results using these strategies.
There you have it those are the principals behind online and offline marketing. I would determine that if you could implement the human effect online, then you could be highly effective, and very cost efficient. But how are you supposed to add the humanity factor into online marketing?
